Broad-spectrum CBD oil is whole-plant hemp extract with the THC removed (0% THC) — what's in it, how it compares, and where to buy it in Canberra, ACT.

Broad-spectrum CBD oil is a whole-plant hemp extract that has been refined to remove the THC, retaining the other cannabinoids and terpenes while reading 0% THC. It is the specification chosen by buyers who want the broader hemp profile with no THC present. In Canberra, it is supplied by CBD Oil Canberra, an online CBD oil retailer dispatching to Belconnen, Gungahlin, Tuggeranong, Woden and across the rest of ACT.

Broad-spectrum CBD oil explained — and where to buy it in Canberra

This is an information page about a product type, not medical advice. CBD Oil Canberra documents each oil by its measurable composition — cannabinoid, spectrum, strength, carrier and THC content — and never by any outcome. The most useful place to begin is the checklist a Canberra buyer can apply to any oil, after which the definition and the comparisons make sense in context.

What to check on a broad-spectrum CBD oil label

Whatever the brand, the same five points keep an assessment on documented facts rather than marketing:

  • Spectrumbroad-spectrum (THC removed), full-spectrum (legal trace of THC under 0.3%) or isolate (a single cannabinoid in isolation). This is a compositional classification, not a quality ranking.
  • Strength — the milligrams of cannabinoid stated for the bottle. Dividing by the volume gives the per-millilitre figure; a 1000mg oil in a 50ml bottle is 20mg per millilitre.
  • Carrier oil — the medium the cannabinoid is dissolved in; ours is a coconut-derived MCT.
  • THC content — stated explicitly on the label and confirmed by the Certificate of Analysis. For a broad-spectrum oil this is 0%.
  • Lab testingthird-party tested on a per-batch basis, with a Certificate of Analysis available on request prior to purchase.

With that framework in place, the rest of this page explains what each term means.

What is broad-spectrum CBD oil?

A whole hemp plant is extracted to produce an oil containing cannabidiol together with the minor cannabinoids and the terpenes native to the same plant. A broad-spectrum oil is then subjected to a further refinement step that removes the THC while the remaining hemp constituents are retained. The composition stays broad; the THC is reduced to 0% as recorded on the certificate.

That distinction defines the category. A whole-plant oil carries a legal trace of THC; a proportion of buyers require none at all — whether for an employment policy, a personal preference or simply an absence of THC in the product. Broad-spectrum is the configuration that satisfies that requirement, and it is described here strictly by its composition.

A point of terminology: this is a hemp-derived CBD oil, cannabidiol obtained from low-THC Cannabis sativa L. It is not a prescription cannabis medicine, and it is a separate product from the medicinal cannabis prescribed by a doctor. The subject throughout is the over-the-counter, hemp-derived oil available for direct purchase.

Broad-spectrum vs full-spectrum vs isolate

The three classifications differ only in how much of the plant profile is retained:

  • Full-spectrum retains the complete plant: CBD, the minor cannabinoids, the terpenes, and a legal trace of THC held under 0.3%. The corresponding product is our full-spectrum CBD oil.
  • Broad-spectrum retains that same profile with the THC removed — broad composition, 0% THC.
  • Isolate retains a single cannabinoid with everything else removed. Our CBN oil is a THC-free cannabinol isolate.

A further single-cannabinoid oil is not CBD at all: CBG oil is cannabigerol, the precursor compound the hemp plant synthesises first. The sequence therefore runs from the fullest profile to the simplest — full-spectrum (trace THC), broad-spectrum (0% THC), then a single cannabinoid in isolation. The selection is compositional, and every option can be compared on the shop page.

What's in our broad-spectrum CBD oil

The formulation is deliberately plain and is printed on the label. Our broad-spectrum CBD oil is hemp extract in a neutral, coconut-derived MCT carrier (medium-chain triglycerides), with minimal additional content: organic, non-GMO and alcohol-free. The ingredients line reads hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) aerial-parts extract and MCT coconut oil. Because the THC has been removed, each batch is recorded at 0% THC.

Every bottle is 50ml and is sold by its total cannabinoid content. The broad-spectrum line is graduated from 1000mg through 3000mg and 6000mg to 12000mg. That figure denotes the quantity of CBD in the whole bottle: 1000mg equates to 20mg per millilitre, and 12000mg to 240mg per millilitre. The dropper dispenses a 0.5ml serving, so a 50ml bottle yields approximately 100 servings irrespective of strength.

Each oil is imported from EU Labs in Amsterdam and laboratory-tested on a per-batch basis, so every batch carries its own Certificate of Analysis confirming the cannabinoid content and the 0% THC. These certificates are not published on the site; on request to enquiries@cbdoilcanberra.com, citing the batch printed on the bottle, the corresponding document is provided. Pricing is stated in Australian dollars and follows the strength, from $89.95.

Selecting a strength

Strength selection is a personal matter and is distinct from a dose for any particular purpose; the documentation explains how to measure a serving, not how much to take. The strength figure is simply the total cannabinoid in the bottle, and the per-millilitre value derived from it allows direct comparison between products. A higher-strength bottle places more cannabinoid in each 0.5ml serving; the appropriate choice is the buyer's.

Our guide to using CBD oil sets out how to read a label and draw a 0.5ml serving from the dropper once a Canberra order is received. It addresses the mechanics of measurement only, consistent with the policy of describing composition rather than effect.

Is broad-spectrum CBD oil legal in ACT?

Hemp-derived CBD oil is available in ACT within the national framework administered by the Therapeutic Goods Administration. In 2021 the TGA down-scheduled low-dose cannabidiol — up to 150mg per day — to a pharmacist-only medicine, and the broad-spectrum oils sold over the counter are hemp-derived and THC-free, which is the category most buyers acquire directly. Higher-strength and THC-containing products are accessed by prescription instead.

We describe our oils by composition only and make no health claims; the current rules are set out in full on the TGA website. The oils are sold for adults aged 18 and over and are not suitable for anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding. Where regular medication or a medical condition is involved, the appropriate first step is a consultation with a qualified health professional.

Common questions about broad-spectrum CBD oil in Canberra

What does broad-spectrum mean? It denotes a whole-plant hemp extract — CBD with the other cannabinoids and terpenes — that has been refined to remove the THC, so it retains the broader profile while reading 0% THC.

Does broad-spectrum CBD oil contain THC? No. The THC is removed during processing, so each batch is recorded at 0% THC, confirmed on its Certificate of Analysis.

How does it differ from full-spectrum? Full-spectrum retains the complete plant, including a legal trace of THC under 0.3%; broad-spectrum is the same extract with the THC removed. The trace-THC product is our full-spectrum CBD oil.

Is broad-spectrum CBD oil legal in ACT? Yes, within the national framework — low-dose cannabidiol is classified as pharmacist-only, and hemp-derived THC-free oils constitute the over-the-counter category. The rules are administered by the TGA, and we describe our oils by composition only.
